Kenneth Ray Werchan

Kenneth Ray Werchan passed away Nov. 20, 2021, at his home in Burnet.

Kenneth Ray Werchan passed away Nov. 20, 2021, at his home in Burnet. He was surrounded by his family and wife. Kenneth was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Taylor, to Bertha and Albert Werchan.

He grew up in theTaylor area, graduated from Hutto High School in 1959. After high school he entered the Air Force in 1959-1964, he was stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine. After discharge he returned home to Texas with his former spouse and mother of his children, Pricilla Walther.

Kenneth was a prolific farmer in the Hutto/Taylor area, active on the Hutto school board and was a founding father of the Hutto Volunteer Fire Department. He worked at the postal service from 1985-2005 in Taylor and Hutto locations.

He was a member of the “Hutto Coffee Club” with many of his lifelong friends and fellow farmers. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor, baptized and confirmed.

Recently he and his wife Libby and their loyal and loved dog Sadie, moved to Burnet.

Kenneth and Libby enjoyed traveling, deer hunting, two-stepping, cooking and watching college football. He enjoyed keeping up with all that was going on with his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments and graduation from college.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Albert Werchan; daughter, Heidi Walther; sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Pee Wee Turner; brother-in-law, Bill Rountree; and stepchildren, Ben Jones and Renda Napolitano.

Kenneth is survived by his friend and wife, Libby; daughters, Kristen Cepak, Bethany Fisher and husband Terry; son-in-law, Michael Walther; stepchildren, Deanna McCollum, David and Rowena Jones; sister, Betty Rountree; grand children, Courtland and Meredith Cepak, BriAna and Camden Cawley, Devin Fisher and fiancé Avery Martin, Logan Fisher, Austin and Meredith Jones, Lincoln and Malory Jones, Asia Jones and Waylon Jones; along with six great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephew and their spouses.

Memorial services will be held Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor.
