Taylor experienced a brief break from triple-digit heat this week.

Cloudy skies helped the area experience moderate temperatures, with highs barely reaching 80 degrees towards the end of the week.

The temperature drop is paired with the return of rain, which had been missing from the area’s weather picture for a handful of weeks.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Taylor Municipal Airport received about 1.5 inches of rain between Wednesday, Sept. 13 and Friday, Sept. 15.

The National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office said their storm prediction center listed the Taylor area as a Level 1 during Thursday and Friday.

Scattered rainfall is expected Saturday, Sept. 16. However, the recent rain spell is expected to conclude following Saturday’s showers.

This week’s precipitation percentages are low, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday listed as 0% by the Weather Network.

Temperature highs are projected to be in the mid-90s for most of this next week.
