Council to consider judge appointment

During its Thursday, April 25 meeting, the Taylor City Council will decide whether or not to approve the appointment of the city’s next municipal court judge.

The Council will vote whether or not to adopt a resolution appointing Lucas Wilson to the role of municipal court judge.

The municipal court judge oversees court proceedings in the Taylor Municipal Court.

“Currently, the associate judge, Lucas Wilson, is providing judicial services on a regular basis,” staff analysis reads. “Judge Wilson is agreeable to stepping into the Municipal Court Judge position.”

Judge Randall Pick submitted his resignation effective March 28, according to LaShon Gros, director of human resources and civil service.

The Municipal Court Judge receives compensation determined by the City Council.

Regularly meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 400 Porter St. in Taylor. Agendas and live broadcasts are available at http://www.taylortx. gov.
