Hutto recovers funds involved in two criminal investigations

HUTTO – The city of Hutto has successfully recovered $286,000 involved in two separate external criminal investigations. In mid-August, $193,000 was transferred out of the city’s bank account at the request of a fraudulent party impersonating a known city vendor.

HUTTO – There are signs that life is starting to return to normal at the site where a school bus crashed through a fence and hit a residence Tuesday, Sept. 5. Debris has been removed and plastic sheeting hung.

Temple College tax rate designed to support campus growth

HUTTO – Brandon Bozon, Temple College vice-president of Administrative Services and chief financial officer, presented a budget to the Hutto Independent School District board of trustees designed to raise an additional 18% in tax revenue for Fiscal Year 2024.

City falls behind on tree coverage HUTTO — The Texas A&M Forestry Service performs aerial measurements of how much city land is covered by a tree canopy. Tree coverage helps cities and property owners with energy conservation, stormwater control, cleaner air, cooler ambient temperatures, community wellbeing, property values and job creation, according to the agency.

TAX ABATEMENT ZONE CONSIDERED FOR DATA CENTER HUTTO – City council will consider the approval of a tax abatement agreement with Hutto Data Center Campus LLC, a joint venture between Skybox Datacenters, LLC and Prologis Inc. at their July 20 meeting. The venture owns about 220 acres in the 1,400 acre Hutto Megasite located along State Highway 79.
