HUTTO – Four unique holiday events are on tap for the historic downtown as Holidays in Hutto returns this winter. The festive fun begins with Shop Small Saturday and the Downtown Tree Lighting Saturday, Nov.

HUTTO – Recently, Hutto Middle School hosted ‘Meltdown,’ the annual districtwide robotics competition. The energy and enthusiasm from Hippo Nation were on full display with hundreds of students, parents and community members coming together to watch our amazing robotics teams in action.

HUTTO – Residents in Hutto will start to see infrastructure improvements in the near future. The Hutto City Council voted to continue with improvements on the city’s infrastructure plans during last month’s meetings that include waterline, transportation and drainage, in addition to highway expansions that have been budgeted in and around more than $2 million in funds on bid less, contractual projects.

HUTTO – Hutto scared up more than fifty local homeowners for the inaugural Halloween House Decorating Contest. The Parks and Recreation department sponsored the ghoulish contest. Volunteer judges went to every home entered and came up with a list of winners in four spooktastic categories.

HUTTO – As the temperatures start to get lower, a friendly reminder that the Hutto ISD Parent & Family Engagement team’s “Hippo Hangers” program has an immediate need for cold-weather clothing including coats, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, sweaters/sweatshirts, socks and pants. Clothes of all sizes are needed, but the biggest need is sizes for elementary children.

During the month of October, there is plenty of family fun on Wednesday evenings in downtown Hutto. From 3 – 7 p.m. every Wednesday evening at 200 East St., the Hutto Farmers Market has free giveaways and activities in addition to fresh local produce, leafy greens, honey, jerky, lemonades, agua frescas, dog treats, coffee, gourmet cookies, bath bombs, and more available for sale through their local vendors.

HUTTO – The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) have announced Nadine Johnson Elementary School Renovations (Design and Value) were among the 55 projects that will be included in the 2022-23 Exhibit of School Architecture.

Hundreds turned up for craft vendors, family and pet-friendly fun Saturday, Sept. 17 for Hutto Market Days, which is held every third Saturday at 200 East Street in Hutto for craft vendors, family and pet friendly fun, and more.

HUTTO – Another major technology project is in the works for the coveted Hutto mega-site. Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters and its partner, San Francisco-based Prologis Inc., have purchased over 220 acres from the city of Hutto, where they plan to build a world-class campus of data centers. The land is part of the Hutto megasite, a massive tract for strategic development of big businesses on the south side of US Hwy 79 in far eastern Hutto.

HUTTO – Hutto ISD Superintendent Celina Estrada Thomas will host the first table talk of the 2022-23 school year Thursday, Sept. 1, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

HUTTO – Texas State Technical College’s Cybersecurity program is coming back this fall to the East Williamson County campus in a hybrid format. For the first time since spring 2020, students will be able to attend labs inperson on campus and listen to lectures online. Students continue to have the option of taking the program in an allonline format.

HUTTO – The Hutto Hippos’ first football game is Friday, Aug. 26, in San Marcos.
