Lack of youth activities/hangouts was one of the weaknesses in Taylor according to the recent Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) report.
A step in the right direction has been made with the addition of Gattiland.

This is what I like to see... Somebody from the Private Sector - a businessman who see's an opportunity to offer something the community wants - And - who's gonna make money by doing it....
It's called capitalism. I'm pretty much in favor of it... and, I'm not too much in favor of people expecting the Gov't (ie, the local, city gov't) spending money on providing all the entertainment venues.
Now, I hope somebody in leadership in the Democratik Republik of Taylor will get somebody to build that bowling alley (and, actually make it possible for them to do so, without all the usual red tape and hoops to jump through).

Good news for us "progressives" now in Taylor. BTW, the Am-Statesman's article about the fastest growing cities in Texas and especially Central Texas indicated Taylor grew by about 6+% (I figure about 1,000 people) in the last three years.
