LIBERTY HILL – Past the midway mark of the district season, the Lady Ducks are still searching for a marquee win that could spark an outside shot at a playoff appearance. While it didn’t happen Tuesday night, they can at least take solace in the fact that they made No. 7 state-ranked Liberty Hill mighty nervous.
ABILENE –Taylor’s Everado Araujo just missed out on a podium finish, taking fourth place at the Division II UIL state powerlifting meet Saturday. The junior finished with a three-lift total of 1,430 pounds, including one of the top squats at 545 pounds.
Taylor ISD is upgrading the sprinkler system at Memorial Field in order to have everything in place and ready to go for the 2015-16 school year. According to Deputy Superintendent, Richard Kolek, about a third of the old system had quit working and the previous wiring was in serious need of an upgrade.
