Ribbon cutting in Granger Wednesday

Williamson County and the city of Granger invite the public to a ribbon-cutting for the Davilla Street improvement project. The project included replacing a collapsed box culvert under Davilla Street and replacing some of the street’s brick pavers with colored stamped concrete in the vicinity of the Davilla Street and Walton Street intersection.

The brick pavers were salvaged and given to the city of Granger for future use. Levelup asphalt paving was also added to Ash Street just north of Davilla Street to improve the crossing over the railroad tracks for haul trucks.

On March 10, Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles was joined by Granger Mayor Monica Stojanik, Granger City Administrator Christy Bradshaw and others to break ground on the Davilla Street culvert project.

“I’m so excited for the project,” said Boles at the time. “This road with this culvert is critical to the whole city of Granger, and I’m honored that they’re allowing us to work on it with them.”

The project was designed by RS&H. The contractor is Chasco Constructors. The cost of the project is $664,464 and is funded with voter-approved 2019 Road Bonds.
