The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball team is gearing up for the start of the 2025-26 season and will open with a dual match on Tuesday, Aug. 12, against Lago Vista and Lorena. The team will then compete in the annual Cameron Varsity Tournament, scheduled for Aug. 14-16.
Thrall will look to start strong this year after dropping both of its opening matches to Lago Vista and Lorena last season.
The Tigerettes return a veteran core and enter the year with high expectations following a strong 2024 campaign in which they posted a 10-2 district record. Among the key returners are senior outside/middle hitter Brynn Leschber, senior middle hitter Nevaeh Irvin, senior libero Kinley Hoffman, senior middle hitter Cythnia Fourney-Walker and junior hitter Ellie Schmidt.
While Thrall boasts experience and chemistry, it will look to fill the void left by the departures of standout contributors Amber Kevil and Emily Holybee, who both graduated this past spring.
The Tigerettes will also face several compelling non-district matchups against local opponents, including a home match against Taylor on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and a road contest at Thorndale on Friday, Sept. 5.
Thrall opens district play with a highly anticipated matchup against Franklin, which went undefeated in district last season and accounted for the Tigerettes’ only two losses in league play.
With a blend of veteran leadership and rising talent, the Tigerettes aim to contend for a district title and make a deep postseason run in 2025.
