Rams take on Falcons in season opener

The St. Mary’s Rams six-man football team will open the 2025 season against the Williamson County Home School Falcons on Friday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Williamson County.

The Rams fell just short in last year’s matchup, losing 46-41 in a shootout. This season, they will look to flip the script but will have to do so without key graduates Kolbe Barta and Tyler Zimmerhanzel, who helped lead St. Mary’s to a 3-1 district record and a playoff appearance.

The Falcons also lost their top playmaker from 2024, as Ethan Slusher — who accounted for 41 touchdowns — graduated in the spring. Junior Luke Currie and senior Kameen Smith are expected to step into bigger roles for Williamson County.

St. Mary’s will look to start fast in 2025 as it turns to a younger lineup with new players ready to step into the spotlight.
