Hutto High School announced the hiring of Chase Weaver as its new head wrestling coach and offensive line coach.
Weaver replaces David Salyer, who retired after one season at Hutto. He arrives from Axtell High School, where he spent the past two seasons coaching football.
The Hippos fielded one of the state's top offensive lines last season, averaging 6.3 yards per carry while helping lead the team to one of its most productive rushing attacks.
Weaver joins a staff led by first-year head football coach Casey Walraven as Hutto looks to build on last season's 10-3 record and a share of the district championship.
