HUTTO – Hutto utility player Jaiden Fields announced Tuesday afternoon he will play college football at the University of Oklahoma.
Fields made the announcement in front of family, friends and coaches at the Hutto High School competition gym. Fields chose Oklahoma over Texas A&M, Texas Christian, Southern Methodist and Stanford.
Fields is the No. 1 utility player in the state, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. He plays wide receiver on offense and safety on defense and will be a senior at Hutto in the fall.
Fields will play one of those positions at Oklahoma in 2027. As a junior, Fields had a stellar campaign.
On offense, Fields caught 89 passes for 1,345 yards and 18 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 48 tackles, recovered three fumbles and intercepted two passes.
