MAKING THE GRADE
School district trustees are mulling a “turnaround plan” to bolster the accountability ratings for Taylor Middle and Main Street Elementary schools.
Megan Zembik, chief academic officer of the Taylor Independent School District, shared the proposal Nov. 17 during a public hearing held before the board’s regular session.
Zembik presented a three-year instructional plan for both the middle school and Main Street with the goal of achieving a C grade or better under the Texas Education Agency’s A-F accountability rating system.
The middle school received a D during the latest posting, while the elementary during 2024-25 earned a B.
That grade means the elementary is no longer classified as being in school-improvement status
“
We can always continue to improve for the benefit of the students.”
