GEORGETOWN — As the United States celebrates 250 years of independence in 2026, the Williamson Museum is hosting the American Revolution Experience Traveling Exhibit.
Organizers said the displays bring the American Revolution to life through stories, drawings, artifacts and touch-screen kiosks.
The exhibit runs through Saturday at the museum, 716 Austin Ave.
Created through a partnership between the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust, the exhibit came to Williamson County through a sponsorship by the Daniel Coleman Chapter, the oldest DAR chapter in the county, officials said.
Two additional panels were added to the exhibit by the Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution to showcase contributions made to the revolt against the British crown by what is now Texas.
Williamson County also purchased panels to honor the forefathers of its early settlers.
The museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Afterwards, the exhibit will be divided between the Georgetown Public Library, 402 W. Eighth St., and the Round Rock Public Library, 200 E. Liberty Ave. in Round Rock, from Dec. 21 to Jan. 2.
