FINAL FOUR
The city of Taylor has narrowed its search for its next Chief of Police down to four applicants. These four applicants will meet and greet with residents Wednesday at the Taylor Public Library and Thursday at the Dickey-Givens Community Center.

The public has a chance this week to meet the four candidates vying to be the next head of the Taylor Police Department, a roster that includes the interim chief, officials said.

Taylor residents will have two opportunities to greet the candidates for police chief:

• 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St.

• 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Dickey-Givens Community Center, 1015 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

• Taylor interim Chief Joseph Branson

• Former Austin Chief Joseph Chacon

• Former Levelland Chief Albert Garcia

• Universal City Chief Johnny Siemens Chacon is the emergency services director for Pflugerville, and Garcia is the dean of technical education at South Plains College in Levelland.

Siemens was the Castle Hills Police Department chief for three years and also worked at the Boerne Police Department.

The position for Taylor’s chief opened in September when Henry Fluck retired.

Fluck, a 49-year law enforcement veteran, served as Taylor’s chief for 12 years. He previously worked in El Paso and Cedar Park.
