The Granger Lions varsity volleyball team bounced back with a strong performance Tuesday, Aug. 18, sweeping the Rockdale Tigers at Rockdale High School.
The Lady Lions controlled the match from the start, opening with a 25-16 victory in the first set. Granger continued to apply pressure in the second set, holding off Rockdale 25-22 before closing out the match with a 25-18 win in the third set.
The victory gave Granger a much-needed boost after a challenging showing at the Cameron Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Lions have experienced some ups and downs during the early portion of the season but showed their ability to respond with a complete performance against Rockdale.
Granger will look to build on the victory as it continues a busy stretch of its schedule.
The Lady Lions hosted dual matches Thursday against Hallettsville and Navasota before returning to action Tuesday, Aug. 25, against Rogers. The match against Rogers is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Granger High School.
