Hosts remote Q&A session for prospective applicants
GEORGETOWN – Nonprofits serving the communities of Taylor, Hutto and Georgetown have $150,000 funding available from the Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation.
Prospective applicants learned more about the 2026 grant cycle in an online Zoom session at 10 a.m. Aug. 20.
Now in its sixth year, the foundation remains committed to helping local nonprofits strengthen operations, deepen impacts and plan for the future, foundation officials said.
“We prioritize organizations home-based in the Taylor, Hutto and Georgetown communities,” said Larry Olson, founder of Anna+Anton. “We’re focused on strengthening those local nonprofits’ organizational capacity so they can continue operating and serving our communities for years to come.”
Since its inception in 2021, the Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation has awarded 110 grants totaling over $936,000 to 60 nonprofits. The foundation supports efforts in education, youth entrepreneurship and helping seniors live independently.
“Our grantees reflect what’s possible when strong local leadership is met with the right resources at the right moment,” a foundation release noted.
Attendees during the online session can ask questions about the application process, eligibility and funding priorities.
Grant applications are open now at anna-anton.org.
“In 2025, we saw a significant increase in grant applications from the Taylor community,” Olson said. “We want to build on that momentum to continue investing in and strengthening those organizations in the communities that hold a special place in the legacy of my grandparents.”
The foundation honors the legacies of Anna and Anton Olson, pioneers who separately emigrated from Sweden as teenagers and eventually married and settled on a farm outside the Taylor community.
