Calling all nonprofits: The Greater Taylor Community Foundation will host an informational session Aug. 26 in preparation for Giving Tuesday.
Agencies, volunteers, coordinators and others can meet with the 2026 Give Taylor Campaign Leadership team to prepare for the Dec. 1 Giving Tuesday event.
The meeting is 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 180 N.W. Carlos G. Parker Blvd.
Nonprofits will have the opportunity to learn strategies behind this year’s coordinated giving effort and “understand how to maximize donor engagement,” according to a statement.
Organizers said the goal is to set a record for charitable giving.
Steve Laukhuf, owner and morning deejay of Taylor’s radio station KRXT 98.5, is this year’s chairman of the 2026 Give Taylor Campaign.
He has vowed to bring in more donations than last year and is encouraging all Taylor-based nonprofits, churches, civic groups and other community organizations to attend the Wednesday session to prepare for the 2026 giving season.
“Give Taylor works because Taylor shows up for Taylor,” Laukhuf said. “This meeting is where nonprofits get the strategy, tools and support that help turn one day of giving into longterm impact. When our organizations succeed, our entire community succeeds — and we want every nonprofit to walk into Giving Tuesday prepared to raise more and reach more people than ever before.”
Give Taylor is one of many initiatives GTCF invests in to strengthen families by removing barriers to stability, such as food and home insecurity, childcare access and health issues, so the Taylor community can thrive, officials said.

Giving Tuesday, organized in 2012 in New York City, is a counterpoint to the commercialism during the period after Thanksgiving that encourages people, companies and organizations to donate their time, resources and talents to charitable causes they deeply care about, according to online narratives.
