FIREFIGHTERS HONORED

JP office closed this week
A county office in Taylor will have different availability this week. The Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 office will be closed from Tuesday, May 3, through Thursday, May 5, for court personnel training.

Input needed to wrangle codes

DUCK HEROES
The Taylor ISD school board recognized four staff members at the April 18 meeting and expressed deep appreciation for their efforts in not only keeping students safe, but saving lives. During a trip of the boys soccer team to a recent game, the driver of the chartered bus suddenly became ill and unable to perform his duties.

County lifts burn ban
Conditions have improved to allow for outdoor burning. On Tuesday, April 26, County Judge Bill Gravell lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County.

Virus cases stay in 300+ range
Williamson County’s COVID-19 case rate has remained relatively steady this month. Confirmed cases, which include past and current episodes reported to the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD), increased by 674 in the county April 12-25.

TBC collabs for Earth Day
Last week, Texas Beer Company (TBC) kicked off a statewide tour to launch a new charity collaboration beer with Hill Country Conservancy: Wild Texas Kolsch. Representatives from TBC said, “It’s a good beer for a good cause with the intention of keeping Texas wild.” A portion of the beer proceeds will be donated to Hill Country Conservancy (HCC), and supporters are encouraged to make additional donations at www.hillcountryconservancy.org. HCC has conserved over 14,000 acres and is dedicated to protecting our vital natural resources through conservation, community collaboration, and engagement to sustain the region now and forever.

‘The Jungle Book’ in Cameron
Milam Community Theater will present its second Youth Series performance of the 2022 Season. “The Jungle Book.” by Joseph Bobinette, directed by Samantha Sanders and Stephanie Junker, and based on the books by Rudyard Kipling, will be presented on and on Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m.
