John Peebles Jr.
John Peebles Jr.

After completing high school, John met the love of his life Karen Rose Barak in 1960 and the two married in November 1962. During the course of the next eight years, the couple welcomed four children to their growing family.
After trying a couple of career paths, John found his calling in 1967 when he became an offshore pipeline welder. In a career spanning more than 50 years, John rose from pipeline welder to foreman, to inspector and finally chief inspector on five continents.
He literally left his mark on the world working on pipeline projects in New Zealand, Singapore, India, Africa, Saudi Arabia, South America and the United States. He was admired and respected by everyone with whom he worked.
First and foremost, John loved spending time with his family, but he was also an avid fisherman and poker player. He followed in his family’s footsteps and was very proud of becoming a 32nd-degree Mason. Later in life, he found keen interest in sketching and coin collecting.
John was unfailingly kind, generous and filled with a sense of fun. He loved a good joke and to gently tease family and friends. He never met a stranger, and he was usually greeted by name in stores and restaurants he frequented.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen; his four children Kay, Pamela, Michelle and John Edward III; five grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Kristin, Tatiana, and John Edward IV; three great grandchildren Brooke, Hunter and Evangeline; and his brother Jack Thomas Peebles.
