The Hutto Hippos varsity football team picked up a 67-41 victory over the Converse Judson Rockets on Friday, Sept. 4.
The Hippos' offense exploded for its highest-scoring game since 2023, when Hutto defeated Liberty Hill 82-80.
The scoring started on the first play of the game when senior athlete Jaiden Fields scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown to give Hutto an early 7-0 lead. Fields added two more touchdowns on receptions.
His brother, junior Carson Fields, also caught two touchdown passes, while sophomore Brayden Childs added a rushing touchdown. Senior tight end Kam Jones scored on a touchdown reception, and sophomore quarterback Micah Antoun went 16/20 for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
Hutto improves to 1-1 on the season and earned its first win under first-year head coach Casey Walraven. The Hippos will travel to face Copperas Cove at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
