The Taylor Lady Duck varsity volleyball team took down the hosting Eastside Early College Panthers 3-2 after a dramatic meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The Panthers entered the meeting attempting to build off a 3-2 victory against Northeast Early College the week prior.
They currently hold a 2-3 district record, giving up 12 sets since league play began in early September.
In their last matchup, Taylor swept the Panthers away in a 2-0 tournament shutout.
Eastside Early College set the tone by taking the first and second sets of the contest 25-18 and 25-22, respectively.
The Lady Ducks responded and fought back, coming out with a narrow 25-23 victory in the third set. Taylor kept the Panther defense at bay in the fourth and triumphed 25-20.
The tie-breaking match saw a tired Panther defense fall 15-6 to the Lady Ducks, marking their second consecutive win in extra sets.
Taylor has only given up four sets in district play, placing them first in district with 12 sets won and a 4-0 record.
The Lady Ducks played Austin Achieve at home on Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to take on the Manor New Tech Titans on Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Titans currently hold a 2-0 district play record.
