The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball picked up their third district win with a 3-1 road victory against the Rockdale Tigers on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Rockdale has accumulated a 6-21 overall record, with no success in league play after five matches holding the Tigers at seventh place in district rankings. This is a change from this time last season, where Rockdale had just picked up their first of four wins.
The Tigerettes entered the meeting coming off a 3-0 blowout victory at home against C.H. Yoe, landing them at third on the district rankings.
Rockdale clenched their lone victory in the first set, taking the visiting Tigerettes down 25-23.
Thrall responded with a relentless offense, taking sets two and three 25-20. In the fourth and final set, Rockdale could not recoup and fell 25-14.
The Tigerettes now hold a 18-14 overall record and a 3-2 for district play.
Thrall will look to continue this upward momentum on the road against the Caldwell Hornets on Sept. 25 at 4:30 p.m. The Hornets are ranked fifth in district, maintaining a 13-21 overall record and 3-2 for district play.
