The Thrall Tigers varsity football team dominated the Florence Buffaloes 61-0 at home on Friday, Oct. 16, picking up their second blowout of the season.
This echoes their last meeting in 2023, where the Tigers hosted and took down the Buffaloes 49-0 in a pre-district game.
Senior quarterback Weston Smiley went 5 of 9 for 58 passing yards and two touchdowns. Junior wide-receiver Jayden Henley had 13 carries for 133 total yards, picking up his first two touchdowns of the season. Additionally, senior running- back Ty Matthews had 11 carries for 126 yards and one score.
Thrall has three regular season games left, holding a 6-1 overall record and a perfect 2-0 record for district play. The Tigers currently sit in the first spot on district rankings.
The Tigers will look to extend their win streak to five as they travel to take on the Rogers Eagles on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
The Tigers faced the Eagles last year in a 55-35 loss to conclude the regular season.
Rogers holds a 4-3 overall record and a split 1-1 for district play, attempting to shake off a 41-20 defeat by Lexington.
