The Hutto Hippos varsity volleyball team defeated the Manor Mustangs in straight sets 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The Hippos improved to 21-19 overall and 9-6 in district play, while the Mustangs remained winless on the season.
This matchup was never close as Hutto dominated from start to finish winning the first set 25-11 before taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-10 victory.
The Hippos would close the game with a 25-12 win in the final set.
Hutto senior setter Isabelle Orton finished the game with a team-high 11 kills, while freshman hitter Ellie Witcher had seven kills.
Other notable players were Hippos senior middle hitter Mya Smith and freshman defensive specialist Teegan Combs.
Smith tallied three kills, while Combs had two aces. Hutto looks to finish the season strong going on the road to take on Vandegrift on Friday, Oct. 25.
The Hippos are looking for a different outcome losing 3-0 in the previous matchup versus the Vipers. The game is set to start at 5:30 p.m.
