GRANGER — The Granger Lions varsity baseball team earned nine all-district selections to cap off their 2024 season, including four firstteam picks, three second-team honorees and two honorable mentions.
Freshmen Tre Castillo and Nicholas Blane made immediate impacts, both earning first-team recognition. Castillo led the team with a 2.17 ERA, while Blane posted a teamhigh .356 batting average.
Sophomore Seth Good and junior Ryder Bice rounded out the first-team selections. Good was second on the team in batting average at .292 and led the squad with two home runs, while Bice hit .286 on the season and recorded 12 RBIs.
Second-team honors went to freshman Wyatt Johle and juniors Caleb Tucker and Chase Selucky. Johle was one of the team’s top arms, finishing with a 2.74 ERA, and Tucker and Selucky were key contributors at the plate, both ranking among the team’s top five in RBIs.
Honorable mentions included Dayton Knippa and Marcus Martinez, who were pivotal in the Lions’ lineup and also contributed on the mound.
Granger finished the season with an 11-12 overall record and a 7-6 mark in district play. The Lions fell in the bi-district round of the playoffs in a threegame series against the Harper Longhorns.
