With 64.98% of the vote, Heather Pacharzina Long is projected to be the next council member of Taylor City Council District 4.
Long claimed 334 votes and her opponent, Marie Bloemer, earned 180 votes (35.02%). Long will claim the seat currently held by Robert Garcia, who chose not to seek reelection.
A pair of Hutto City Council races also needed runoffs. Jim Morris and Aaron King are in the lead in the Places 3 and 6 races, respectively.
With 88% of the vote in both races, Morris claimed 746 votes (55.92%) compared to 588 votes (44.08%) for his opponent, Cory Denena, in the Place 3 race. In the Place 6 race, King has 738 votes (55.45%) to 593 votes (44.55%) for Amberley Kolar.
