GRANGER — The Granger Lions varsity
football team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2025–26 season.
Granger will open the season at home against Johnson City on Friday, Aug. 29, followed by another home matchup against Thorndale on Sept. 5. The Lions will hit the road to face Holland on Sept. 12 before entering a bye week. They’ll return to action at home on Sept. 26 against Bartlett.
District play continues as Granger travels to Milano on Oct. 3, then returns home for its homecoming game against Iola on Oct. 10. The Lions will remain at home to host Somerville on Oct. 17 in a matchup that could determine the district title. Last season, Somerville handed Granger its only district loss in a 31–13 defeat.
The Lions will visit McDade on Oct. 24 and host Snook the following week. They will close the regular season on the road against Burton on Friday, Nov. 7.
Granger is coming off an impressive campaign in which it finished 6–1 in district play and advanced to the third round of the playoffs before falling 43–23 to Shiner.
With quarterback Wyatt Rochner and standout running back Caleb Hobratsch returning, the Lions will look to make an even deeper postseason run this fall.
