A Jarrell motorcyclist died after his vehicle was involved in a collision with an automobile Friday in north Taylor.

Police said Billy LaFrance, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:18 p.m. following the incident in the 13400 block of Chandler Road.

This is the second fatality involving an automobile collision in the city this year, investigators said.

The accident remains under investigation, officers said.

According to a release from the Taylor Police Department, officers responded at 5:56 p.m. to a report of an accident involving a white 2021 Toyota Corolla and a red 2024 Kawasaki ZR9 motorcycle.

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services also arrived and began life-saving measures on LaFrance.

The driver of the Corolla, identified by police as 23-year-old Melany Espana of Arlington, was rushed by paramedics to Baylor Scott & White Health-Taylor and was treated for minor injuries.

According to police, the Corolla was headed west on Chandler and attempted to make a left turn onto CR 366 south. The eastbound motorcycle was unable to avoid the Corolla as it made the turn, investigators said.

In addition to police and EMS, the Taylor Fire Department and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
