A stabbing of two Taylor women at a Taylor residence Tuesday night led to the death of one and injuries of another.

Ashley Elizabeth McMicken, 22, died from injuries sustained from being stabbed multiple times, while the other victim, 22-year-old Kilee Schmidt, was treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening at an area hospital. The suspect, 22-year-old Thomas Michael Flinders of Jarrell, was arrested at his residence in Jarrell by deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

Flinders is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. His bond amount is not known at this time.

According to the Taylor Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 4100 block of Kings Canyon Drive at 11:26 p.m. Flinders fled the scene before officers arrived.

Upon arrival, life-saving measures were performed on McMicken, but she was pronounced dead at the scene moments later. Schmidt was taken to an area hospital for her injuries.

After obtaining an arrest warrant for Flinders through the Williamson County District Attorney's Office, the suspect was arrested by deputies shortly before 7 a.m. at his residence. Taylor police, Taylor Fire & Resuce, Williamson County Sheriff's deputies and Williamson County Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.
