The Taylor Ducks (9-19, 2-5 district) varsity volleyball team earned a crucial district victory on the road, defeating the Lampasas Badgers (10-17, 1-6) 3-1 on Friday, Oct. 3, at Lampasas High School.

After dropping the first set 25-16, the Ducks rallied to win the next three sets 25-15, 26-24 and 25-22 to secure the match.

Senior outside hitter Peyton Wamble led the way with a dominant all-around performance, recording 19 kills and 15 digs.

Senior libero McKenna Watson contributed seven kills, while senior Caroline Tate added five. Sophomore Lauren Garza anchored the defense with 14 digs, and junior Grace Yanez added 13 digs of her own.

Taylor got revenge on the Badgers after losing 3-1 earlier in the season. The victory kept Taylor’s playoff hopes alive as the Ducks improved to 2-5 in district play, currently sitting in fifth place behind Marble Falls.

With five district games remaining, Taylor will look to continue building momentum as it hosts Jarrell on Friday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m.
