A Taylor man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
Thomas Glen Holman, 60, received an 80-year sentence from a Williamson County jury Tuesday after he was found guilty of driving while intoxicated-third or more enhanced. The trial was conducted by Judge Kevin Henderson.
Holman's latest arrest took place on Feb. 19, 2023, in Taylor. He was spotted by an off-duty officer with the Holland Police Department driving recklessly between Granger and Taylor.
The off-duty officer pulled Holman over before Taylor police arrived on the scene. After conducting field sobriety tests, Holman was arrested for DWI and his blood alcohol level was 0.292%, which is more than three times the amount of the legal limit of 0.08%.
Holman represented himself in the court room, while assistant district attorneys Joe Shin and Edward Wilkinson prosecuted the case. The prosecution presented evidence of Holman being arrested several times in the 1980s, including four prior DWI convictions.
