GRANGER — The Granger Lions varsity football team continued its dominant season with a 59-0 win over Milano Eagles on Friday, Oct. 10. Senior quarterback Wyatt Rochner led the way with more than 200 passing yards and multiple touchdowns.

Rochner threw his first touchdown of the night on a 56-yard strike to senior wide receiver Caleb Tucker, extending Granger’s lead to 16-0.

Senior running back Caleb Hobratsch added to the lead with a fourth-down touchdown run in the second quarter after a fumble recovery by Chase Selucky set the Lions up in the red zone, making it 24-0.

The Lions continued to roll in the second half, taking a 38-0 advantage in the third quarter. Senior Joseph Sifuentes scored on a 10-yard jet sweep to make it 45-0, while defensive tackle Tyson Courtney recorded the team’s second fumble recovery of the night.

The victory marked Granger’s second shutout of the season. The Lions have now outscored their opponents 269-86 this year.

Granger will look to keep its momentum going in its homecoming game against Iola on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. The game will also mark the debut of the Lions’ new stadium.
