Oct. 6 At 12:46 a.m., the Taylor Police Department responded to the 700 block of West Second Street for a report of a suspicious person.
Officers located a 27-year-old man suspected of possessing methamphetamine. After his arrest, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1 under 1 gram, a state-jail felony.
Oct. 7 At 11:26 p.m., Taylor police responded to the 4100 block of Kings Canyon Drive for a reported assault in progress. An investigation indicated a 22-year-old Jarrell man assaulted a person with a knife, resulting in the death of the victim. The suspect fled but was later placed under arrest at his residence in Jarrell by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. The man is charged with murder, a first-degree felony.
Oct. 9 At 4:42 p.m. Taylor police responded to a reported disturbance in the 2700 block of Sunny Lane. An investigation revealed a 40-year-old man physically assaulted a member of the household, causing injury. He has been charged with assault with injury/family violence, a Class A misdemeanor.
At 10:54 p.m., Taylor police saw a 77-year-old man resting in a sleeping bag in the 100 block of East Third Street. The man received multiple warnings from officers regarding prohibited camping, but refused to comply, which resulted in his arrest for prohibited camping, a Class C misdemeanor.
Oct. 11 At 9:49 p.m., Taylor police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Second Street and placed a 33-year-old man under arrest on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.
