Hospitality meets giving back

‘Cares for Taylor’ special at local hotel

The city’s newest hotel, Home 2 Suites Taylor, is supporting more than 30 area nonprofits through its “Cares for Taylor” stay special through Nov. 9, officials said.

Every booking helps Taylor nonprofits as 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Greater Taylor Foundation’s “Power the Match” campaign, which matches dollarfor- dollar donations, organizers said.

The foundation connects businesses and individuals who want to make a difference with local causes, they added.

“This is more than a hotel stay – it’s a chance to power real change,” Diana Phillips, president of the Greater Taylor Foundation, said in a press release. “We’re proud to partner with Home 2 Suites and challenge other businesses to step up and match the momentum.”

The hotel is at 190 N.W. Carlos G. Parker Blvd.

Hotel owners Rashmi and Nimesh Patel also invited other local businesses to take part in the Power the Match program.

In a previous statement, the Patels said they have been welcomed by the community and were honored to take part in the opportunity.

“Let’s show what Taylor can do when we come together,” Nimesh Patel said.

Reservations at Home 2 Suites Taylor must be made in person at least 24 hours in advance. Guests will receive a tour of the facility and meet the hotel staff.

Faykus Financial of Taylor contributed $10,000 ahead of the Dec. 2 Give Taylor- Giving Tuesday campaign.

Power the Match-Greater Taylor Foundation has set a goal to double that amount.
