GIVE TAYLOR
Give Taylor sponsors are hoping to raise $80,000 for local nonprofits as part of the Giving Tuesday campaign Dec. 2, part of a global movement to encourage a day of unity and generosity.
The Greater Taylor Community Foundation is behind Tuesday’s Give Taylor with 29 local nonprofits participating in the communitywide campaign, including Agape and Shepherd’s Heart food pantries, the Dickey and Dan Moody museums, Taylor Pride, Music on Main and Texas Critter Crusaders.

“Every contribution strengthens programs ranging from youth development and historic preservation to food relief, housing and health,” Diana Phillips, president of the Greater Taylor Foundation, said in an earlier statement.
Participants after donating can share their impact on social media through #GIVETAYLOR to inspire others, sponsors said.
The goal of raising $80,000 this year does not include the $15,000 match donated to the program by Faykus Financial earlier in the year, officials said.
Financial gifts will be multiplied by the $15,000 and then evenly distributed among the nonprofits based on the percentage each raises toward the overall campaign total, officials said.
“The prorated match ensures that each organization benefits in proportion to the generosity it inspires, multiplying the impact of every gift across Taylor and Central Texas,” officials said in a press release.
In a previous statement, Phillips added donations are critical to the health of the local nonprofit community.
“Nonprofits depend on local generosity to sustain programs that feed families, expand youth opportunities, preserve our heritage and provide housing solutions,” Phillips said. “When you give through Give Taylor, you’re not only supporting individual agencies, you’re ensuring that the entire network of nonprofits remains strong, resilient and able to serve Taylor for generations to come.”
The community is invited to meet the nonprofit representatives and hear their stories at the Give Taylor Kickoff Coffee at Curbside Coffee, 114 W. Second St., 7:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
