COUPLAND COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
COUPLAND — Christmas came early to Coupland this weekend as the city sponsored its first Yuletide celebration featuring carolers on horseback and a Texas version of Santa Claus.
Hosted by the city and Coupland Citizens National Bank, the Coupland Country Christmas on Saturday saw a grand turnout with games and goodies for the whole family, plus a visit with a country Santa complete in overalls.
His name? Feliz Navi-Daddy.
The mounted carolers on Sunday hailed from St. Peter’s Church of Coupland.
Though the festival is new, the town’s tradition of caroling on horseback goes back more than 20 years, organizers said.
