Hutto Hippos head football coach Eli Reinhart announced his departure from the program after one season, as he will join the college ranks as an offensive coordinator at an unnamed Division II school.
Hutto ISD superintendent commented on the departure via X/Twitter
"We saw the potential in Coach Reinhart to lead our program & like we knew, he did a wonderful job, when you hire rockstars people are always trying to steal them. I understand this. We wish him well in collegiate world! We are now focused on getting our next rockstar. More details coming soon. Let's go Hippos!"
Reinhart spent one year leading the Hippos and guided the program to a 9-3 overall record and a share of the district championship in his debut season.
His success earned statewide recognition, as he was recently named one of Dave Campbell’s Top 10 first-year Texas high school head football coaches.
The Hippos will return a talented roster next season, including their entire receiving corps led by Jaiden Fields and Dylan Owens.
Reinhart’s departure marks another transition for the program, as Hutto will begin its search for a new head coach. The upcoming hire will be the fourth head football coach for the Hippos in the past six years.
