GREATER TAYLOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards banquet Feb. 17 stayed true to the theme “New Century, New Horizon” by recognizing several local luminaries.
The theme at the gala paid tribute to “a century of strength” and “a future of promise” for the community, organizers said.
Guests filled the Williamson County Expo Center, 3150 Bill Pickett Trail, with dinner provided by Thrall Country Diner.
Taylor Independent School District board President Marco Ortiz won the chamber’s Citizen of the Year award.
Chamber President and CEO Tia Rae Stone was named Taylor Woman of the Year.
The Spirit of the Chamber award went to Jesse Ancira III and the Ancira family was also awarded Member of the Year.
Taylor Sporting Goods, owned by the husband-andwife team of Andrew and Jenny Gonzales, was named Employer of the Year, while Accurate Pavement Striping LLC won the Civic Pride Award.
