Democrat James Talarico and incumbent Republican United States Senator John Cornyn hold slim leads in their respective party's primary election.
As of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Talarico had 53.9% of the votes, nine percentage points ahead of Jasmine Crockett (44.9%) in the Democratic primary. Cornyn had 43.2% of the vote in the Republican primary with Ken Paxton not far behind with 40.3% of the vote.
In the Texas Governor primary races, incumbent Greg Abbott claimed the Republican primary race with 82% of the vote. Gina Hinojosa had 61.1% of the Democratic vote as of 9 p.m.
