Faulty refrigeration equipment is being blamed for a neighborhood explosion that sent one person to an Austin hospital last week.
Though the Taylor Police and Fire departments have released a preliminary investigation report, authorities have not identified the injured person.
First responders shortly before 3 p.m. April 2 rushed to a residence in the 1800 block of Grace Street and found the patient in the backyard.
“Upon investigation, it was determined that an individual was installing or servicing some refrigeration equipment,” said Fire Chief Daniel Baum in a prepared statement.
“While doing so, a component ruptured, causing an explosion that injured the individual.”
At the time, reports indicated the victim was airlifted to an unnamed Austin medical facility.
In addition to city fire and police, Williamson County Emergency Medical Services and Atmos Energy, a naturalgas distribution business, also responded to the scene.
