TAYLOR MAYOR

1). What motivated you to run for Mayor of Taylor?

I’m motivated by the opportunity to bring the community together to work toward the common good of Taylor. It’s anticipated that Taylor will experience unprecedented growth over the next several years and I feel my professional and civic experience will be extremely valuable when making critical decisions.

2). What is your campaign strategy?

My strategy is to listen to my neighbors. I want to visit with as many people as possible and get their thoughts on what they expect from their elected officials and what projects are important to them.

3). If elected, what changes will you bring to the table?

I would leverage my experience to help find innovative solutions to our challenges. I’m a Civil Engineer, so I understand both the technical and financial challenges of the infrastructure problems we face. Additionally, my six years as a trustee on the Taylor Independent School District School Board has given me a better understanding of the public sector budgeting process and the importance of long-term planning.

My time on the school board has also increased my awareness of how important education is to the success of our city. Additionally, owning a business in downtown Taylor has given me insight to the many challenges facing our local small businesses.

4). What can voters expect from you?

You can expect open and honest communication, but most of all you can expect civil discourse and to be treated with respect. Taylor is my home and I will live here the rest of my life — so the decisions we make will have a lasting effect on the community.

I want Taylor to be a city for a lifetime. A place where you can be born, raised, educated, be employed, have a home, retire, shop, have quality health care and great amenities — a place we can all call home.
