Taylor residents recently beat the heat thanks to the long-running tradition of the Fire Truck Spray Down.
During the event, the Taylor Fire Department turns on the hose and cools down the crowd, which leads to a lot of splashing-and-splashing fun, said participants.
The free event usually takes place twice during the summer months, but due to weather delays, the only spray down was 7-8 p.m. July 28 at Fannie Robinson Park, 1009 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Kids of all ages also got to play games and tour a fire truck.
