GRANGER — The Granger Lady Lions varsity volleyball team came back from a twoset deficit to beat Rogers 3-2 on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Granger High School.
Rogers got off to a strong start, taking the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23. With their backs against the wall, the Lady Lions answered by taking the third set 25-17 and the fourth set 25-19 to even the match and force a deciding fifth set.
The fifth set was close throughout, with the two teams trading points and neither able to pull away. Granger stayed composed late and finished with a 15-13 win to complete the comeback.
The victory was Granger’s third in a row as the Lady Lions continue to build momentum with district play getting closer.
Granger will have two more weeks of non-district action before opening district play. The Lady Lions will travel to Bremond on Tuesday, Sept. 1, for a 6 p.m. match.
Granger will open district play at home against Bartlett on Thursday, Sept. 17.
