Four players reach season milestones
The Taylor Lady Ducks fell to Little River Academy in straight sets Tuesday, Aug. 25, but four players reached season milestones in the loss at Taylor High School.
Junior defensive specialists Maricela Hernandez and Lauren Garza both reached 100 assists on the season, while junior middle hitter Faith Hopper recorded her 100th kill. Freshman defensive specialist Alexa Castillo also reached 100 digs, giving Taylor four players who reached the milestone mark.
The Lady Ducks have had a tough start to the season, losing nine of their last 10 matches. Taylor dropped to 4-13 overall with the loss to Little River Academy.
Taylor looked to turn things around this weekend as it competed in the Wildcat Classic at Elgin High School. The tournament gives the Lady Ducks a chance to play several matches before returning to regular- season action.
The Lady Ducks will return home Tuesday, Sept. 1, when they host Giddings at 6 p.m.
