HUTTO — The Hutto Lady Hippos dramatically fell 3-1 to the Cedar Park Timberwolves during a home matchup on Sept. 15, acquiring their fourth straight loss.
The Timberwolves attempted to establish dominance in the first set, winning 25-21. The Lady Hippos struck back in the second set with a two-point advantage 27-25 victory.
Set three was quieter, with the Timberwolves coming out on top 25-20.
Hutto fought the Cedar Park players to the bitter end in the extra set, narrowly falling after the Timberwolves grasped the twopoint advantage and finalized the game at 29-27.
This slump is a swift change from their pre-season tournament outcomes, where the Lady Hippos led a six-game win streak and 30 sets won.
A top player for the Hippos was senior setter Kharmin Fisher, who accumulated 17 assists, eight digs and two aces. She now holds a record of 27 kills and an average hit percentage of .328% Additionally, Kori Glasglow recorded 11 assists and five aces throughout all four sets.
The Lady Hippos faced the Vandegrift Vipers on Friday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. at Vandegrift High School.
