GRANGER — Granger Lions varsity football defeated the Moody Bearcats 58-14 in their homecoming match on Friday, Sept. 25.
Moody entered the meeting attempting to shake off a 38-14 road defeat by Riesel the week prior.
This is the first meeting between the two since 2015, where Granger visited and fell to the Bearcats 46-36.
The Lions moved to rewrite history immediately, outscoring the visitors 37-0 going into halftime.
After a Granger touchdown and a pick six opened the third, Moody put themselves on the board 51-8 with a 2-point conversion following a rushing touchdown.
Granger responded shortly after with its final touchdown of the night.
The Bearcats found the endzone one last time in the third, closing the game 58-14.
The Lions are now 3-2, a change from their 10-1 overall record last season.
Granger will look to continue district play when they go on the road to play Hearne Eagles on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
Hearne is currently 1-3, coming off a byeweek eager to build off their 45-7 home victory over Hempstead.
