Granger Lady Lion varsity volleyball doubled down against Barlett on Oct. 5, defeating the hosting Lady Bulldogs 3-0 for the second time this season.
The Lady Lions entered the match eager to shake off the 3-0 Thorndale blowout that snapped their seven game win streak.
Granger maintained control from the start, taking the first set 25-21. The Lady Lions had their greatest performance in the second set, winning 25-19. The final set saw hard fight by Barlett but ultimately a Granger victory at 25-21.
The Lady Lions picked up 12 points and allowed six in the first round of district play, a slight decline from this time last season where Granger had accumulated 15 points and allowed just one point.
Overall, the Lady Lions hold a 12-10 record and a 4-1 for district as they head into their final three games of the regular season.
Granger played against McDade Bulldogs at home on Oct. 8 before traveling to take on Holland on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The Lady Hornets challenged Granger previously this season, though the Lady Lions came out on top 3-2.
Holland is 2-2 for district play, coming off a 3-1 defeat by top ranked Thorndale.
