The Mumford Mustangs (26-6) jumped out to a 6-0 lead and topped the Thrall Tigers (22-10-1) 7-2 to bring the Tigers’ season to an end in the area round of the playoffs.
Mumford took advantage of five walks in the top half of the first inning to push four runs across the plate. The Mustangs managed just a single hit, but the damage was done. The Mustangs added two more runs in the fourth. The visitors knocked out backto- back doubles and picked up another walk to take a 6-0 lead.
Carter Bradford finally got the Tigers on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Ty Bradford drew a one-out walk and Carter Bradford took a 2-2 pitch over the right field fence for a two-run homerun that trimmed the lead to 6-2.
