June 5, 1977 — Portland Trail Blazers center Bill Walton scored 20 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and dished out eight assists in the series-clinching game of the NBA Finals against the 76ers. Walton, who passed away last week at the age of 71, was named Finals Most Valuable Player for his efforts.
